Aitutaki Dining

The main resorts have in-house restaurant and bar for their guests. For example the private island resort of Aitutaki Lagoon Resort & Spa has a fine-dining main restaurant (Are KaiKai Lagoon Restaurant),  Tainui Bar and Ru's Beach Bar. The Pacific Resort has the Rapae Bay Restaurant and Black Rock Beach Bar. 

Other local eating places include the following. It is always best to make reservations on Aitutaki if you are eating out, to avoid disappointment.

Cafe Tupuna

Located in the middle of the island on Tautu Rd.  Phone: 31-678. Features fresh local seafood as well as imported New Zealand steaks. The marinated raw fish dish popular throughout the Pacific is called ' mata ' in Cook Islands. Also fish curries.

Island Pizza Kitchen Pizza

Coconut Crusher Restaurant & Bar

Located at Amuri on Aitutaki's west coast north of Arutangi. Phone: 31-283. Enjoy curries Pacific Rim style to the strains of local blues guitar. The Restaurant has a couple of Island Nights each week, with spit-roasted pig and buffet.

Samade on the Beach

Located at Ootu Beach, not far from the Aitutaki Lagoon Resort & Spa. Phone: 31-526. Enjoy local style menu at this lagoon-side restaurant with sand floor. An Island Night is held once a week and a barbecue on Sunday afternoons.

Tuano's Garden Cafe

Located at Amuri on Aitutaki Island's west coast. Phone: 31-950. They serve daily specials featuring catch of the day - but they are not open every day so always call to enquire. Also enjoy locally grown and roasted coffee with cake!
